Banner Lassen Medical Center in Susanville, California is situated at the foot of the scenic Sierra Nevada Mountains. This 25-bed acute care facility is located in the northeast corner of California near the Nevada and Oregon borders. Considered the healthcare hub of northeastern California, BLMC provides the community with quality medical care, state-of-the-art technology and excellent patient care services.
Responsibilities: Provides the nursing leadership for the acute care unit during assigned shifts. Coordinates all unit patient care activities. Provides direction to staff during the shift. Performs charge nurse duties which include but are not limited to noting of physician's orders, coordination, communication, collaboration, delegation, holding staff accountable. Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with facility and departmental policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under his/her direction. The Charge RN utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of patients on his or her asigned unit. Qualifications: Must possess a current valid California RN license or temporary California RN license. BSN preferred. Relates throughout the interview process the experience, training and education needed to perform the job, and demonstrates through behaviors and answers to job-related experiential questions, the ability to demonstrate Services Excellence Standards. Experience in the clinical area for which he or she is applying is desired.
