But for those who qualify in this highly demanding field, placement is excellent. And the experience is extremely marketable. Know that most of the training in this field will translate toward credit hours for a bachelor's or associate degree in the area of foreign languages and written and oral communications skills. And you may have the opportunity to take advantage of advanced language training funded by the Navy - as well as potentially receive up to $70,000 for college. WHAT IT TAKES TO JOINTo qualify for Active Duty employment consideration in the Navy and specialize in world languages, you must meet the following requirements: - Be a U.S. citizen

- Be at least 17 but not more than 34 years of age
