Employee Relations Professional to Lead Division in Global Manufacturing Organization



Our client located in Eastern Iowas is currently searching for an Labor Relations Leader. If you are looking for an organization to grow professional with, this is your opportunity.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure consistent administration and interpretation of Plant rules and policies.
  • Coordinate and communicate with staff personnel from on-site hiring agency in meeting hourly manpower needs for the operation.
  • Support and/or coordinate negotiations and relations
  • Coordinate all manpower movement including bids, layoffs, recalls, etc.
  • Supervise the maintenance of employee personnel records.
  • Initiate and conduct timely investigations, prepare documentation and make recommendations for corrective/disciplinary actions.
  • Represent the employer at unemployment compensation proceedings.
  • Support and/or initiate policy process. Facilitate meetings of employees on the policy review team.
  • Advocate for Union Free environment and open door policy.
  • Counsel employees and management on employee relations policy and procedures.
  • Act as a consultant to division process partners to support organization goals for Customer Excellence, Diversity with Inclusion and Lean Manufacturing.
  • Apply lean concepts to make process improvements to the HR function.
  • Facilitate and manage lead meetings.
  • Participate in development of Annual Wage Package for division.
  • Maintain current knowledge of employment law and benefits. Support and interface with employee services to insure high level of customer service to our hourly workforce.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree. A major in business, human resources, psychology or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three (5) years experience in human resources. Manufacturing experience in a union free environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience interpreting and communicating company and location specific policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated skills in establishing and maintaining business relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • General knowledge of the field of human resources including employment law, practices, procedures and code of ethics.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage conflicts. Conflict resolution/or mediation skills a plus.
  • Demonstrated verbal/written communication skills, including effective presentation skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and HR systems. SAP experience a plus.
