Manager III-Executive Communications
Manager III, Executive Communications
Job Description: Prepares speeches, briefs, talking points, webcast scripts and other communications for executive leadership. Manages executive-level projects key to achieving business goals. Works as a member of the Organizational Communications team and a virtual team that consists of communication specialists, web developers, graphic artists, videographers and photographers to provide written messaging and to produce final deliverables. Works closely with subject matter experts across the business to build communications that increase employee awareness and understanding of key business initiatives. Schedules work and provides technical guidance to less senior members of the Organizational Communications staff to ensure that project execution is aligned with corporate and organizational objectives. Develops and executes virtual and live employee events as appropriate. Trains, coaches and mentors the Organizational Communications team and provides performance development feedback to team members. Coaches team to develop innovative ways to communicate through social media tools. Provides counsel to and collaborates with business functions on communications to their teams. Maintains Raytheon brand and communications standards in all communications efforts. Works closely with Senior Manager of Public Relations to ensure a consistent voice for internal and external communications. Serves as backup to the Senior Manager of Organizational Communications.
Required Skills: A minimum of 10 years experience in executive / organizational communications within a corporation or public relations agency, including at least two years of executive speechwriting experience and at least 3 years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
Expert-level writing skills with a solid grasp of English grammar and extensive speechwriting experience. Proven writing capabilities in a variety of formats, specifically executive-level speeches, talking points and video scripts. Strong management/leadership skills and professional demeanor. Strategic thinking, planning and project management skills. Excellent interpersonal and verbal communications skills. Experience prioritizing and multitasking in a fast-paced environment, as well as handling a variety of projects simultaneously; meeting deadlines. Demonstrated experience working with employees, supervisors and all levels of leadership. Flexibility / adaptability. Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite required.
Desired Skills: Experience in corporate communications or the defense industry. Familiarity with social media tools / new technology. Experience working as a team member / lead during crisis communications.
Required Education: Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, English, journalism or other related field.
