Compliance Manager

Job Purpose

The Compliance Manager provides direction to ensure:

1. Accounting activities are compliant with J-Sox requirements
2. Accounting policies and procedures are robust and substantive
3. reporting is compliant with external reporting requirements
4. other business processes (inventory, purchasing, sales) are J-Sox compliant

Duties

v Scoping and risk assessment for J-Sox Implementation and compliance

v Manage J-Sox implementation project for Fabrication

v Develop, update, and maintain J-Sox documentation, including flow charts, narratives, testing results, and issues; review quality of self assessment tests; perform testing.

v Participate in remediation where testing indicates controls are ineffective

v Interface with internal and external auditors on J-Sox issues

v Evaluate, standardize, and integrate J-Sox accounting controls

v Bring systematic, disciplined approach to evaluating and improving compliance with J-Sox and focusing on standardized policies and procedures

v Research US GAAP literature when there are updates and / or business changes which require application of different requirements

v Internal project lead for conversion to IFRS

Skills

v 7 to 10 years Accounting, Consulting, and / or Internal Audit Experience

v Minimum of three years experience relevant to specific requirements of the position

v Understanding of General Accounting requirements and financial reporting

v Demonstrated knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley or J-Sox

v Experience in manufacturing industry

v Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal
