The Cash Collector is responsible for the collection of self-pay accounts is converted to another financial payor. High School diploma or equivalent and two years hospital collection experience. Knowledge of CPT, ICD-9, HCPCS coding structures, medical and insurance terminology, basic mathematical skills, 10-key calculator, and M/S Word and Excel needed. Applicant must possess excellent communication and negotiation skills and obtain cooperation from patients, insurance companies, etc., while maintaining the hospital's professional image.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or equivalent

Two years hospital collection experience

Medical and Insurance terminology preferred

Knowledge of CPT, ICD-9, HCPCS coding structure
