POSITION SUMMARY: Assigns diagnostic and procedure codes to records of
discharged patients and abstracts patient information from the medical record
and enters the information into the computer system. Reviews patients' entire
current medical record and assigns appropriate code using the International
Classification of Disease system. POSITION REQUIRES:
Required Certification/Registration: R.H.I.A., R.H.I.T. or C.C.S. Required
Courses/Training: Course in medical record technology Minimum Experience: 2
years Preferred
Qualifications: High School or equivalent
