JOB SUMMARY:

Respiratory Therapist

JOB SUMMARY:

Functions at the Standard Level of respiratory therapy practice. Responsible for assessment, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions affecting the cardiopulmonary system for children and adults. Selects and administers the appropriate care taking into consideration the age and developmental level and size of the patient. Provides a caring relationship that facilitates health and healing. Should be able to identify own limitations and seek resources as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Current California licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner

Six months of respiratory therapy experience

Current CPR certification (Issued by American Heart Association or Red Cross provider)

RRT or CRT grandfathered prior to 6/1/06

PALS (within 6 months)
NRP (within 1 year if on the ICU team)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

At least one year of professional pediatric or neonatal respiratory therapy experience.
