Join our dedicated and talented team of individuals all focused on creating the best products in the marketplace. We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Data Quality Specialist in our Glendale offices.
Reporting directly to a DMA Manager this Data Quality Specialist will perform all business and support functions associated with the collection and quality checking of data used in the proprietary listings system. Major duties include performing data quality functions, researching and correcting complicated consumer complaints, identify and investigating deviations of data, creating and publishing reports noting deviations and anomalies, quality assurance functions and data evaluation. Other duties include auditing data sets, preparing information for clients, manual data review, and support activities for other departments.
Responsibilities: · Research ‘customer’ complaints providing resolution in a timely manner · Assemble and disseminate information to the ‘user community’ · Perform quality assurance functions; identify and investigate deviations from standards · Analyze data and summarize performance using metrics · Maintain archived information for reference purposes · Create and publish reports noting deviations and anomalies · Prepare and sort source documents, and identify and interpret data to be entered · Analyze data trends and monitor data for duplications and rejects · Experience with database classifications and data access tools · Collaborate with other departments during testing/loading/project planning to validate documented requirements · Knowledge of basic statistics including mean, frequencies, correlation and graphical interpretation · Mentor Associate Data Specialist · Collaborate with other departments during testing/loading/project planning to complete User Acceptance Testing (UAT) · Develop/update procedural documentation as needed · Convert alphabetic, numeric, or symbolic data from source documents into acceptable formats for use in YELLOWPAGES.COM database system · Respond to inquiries regarding incorrect data · Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications: · Ability to read, write and communicate effectively with others to convey ideas or learn job related skills · Ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (including relationships among seemingly unrelated events) · Ability to apply general rules to identify, predict and produce sensible answers to specific problems · Ability to arrange, order or apply a pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g. patterns of letters, words, numbers or math operations) · Ability to logically derive solutions to problems · Ability to work independently and in a team environment · Investigate and determine a resolution in a reasonable amount of time · Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word · Beginner to Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel including copy/paste, data import, data formatting, text formatting, and formulas · Beginner knowledge of Microsoft Access including data entry, basic select statements, and queries · Beginner knowledge of Microsoft Power Point · Beginner knowledge of Visio · Beginner to Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft SQL running jobs, queries, basic joins, basic string manipulation (1-2 years) · General knowledge of U.S. businesses and popular culture helpful · Experience working with large data sets
