Production Control Analyst Description

Job Description A seasoned, senior level member of the production control family, the Production Control Analyst job encompasses a wide variety of data control, computing operations, and scheduling responsibilities. Incumbents apply a comprehensive working knowledge of computing / operating concepts, practices and procedures to ensure the timely scheduling and processing of source data and reports in support of designated system(s). This candidate is capable of handling most complex assignments, equipment and / or operating environment, often relying on past experience. Typically operates independently to resolve most scheduling problems, but work is subject to general supervision. May work at remote, i.e. client site, serving as a liaison between client user personnel and ACS support staff. May assist in the training of less experienced staff.
Representative Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Interfaces with customers and management as primary point of contact regarding production schedules
Ensures that proper notification and escalation procedures on missed checkpoints or other batch / online processing delays are being followed
Develops scheduling resolution / analysis skills and software knowledge
Performs production module migration utilizing products such as Ca-Endeavor
Evaluates processing workload and schedules jobs to meet functional deadlines and to maximize utilization of resources using job scheduling software. Resolves scheduling conflicts with user and operations staff; troubleshoots processing problems and resubmits jobs as necessary and / or escalates to supervision
Responds to requests from systems and applications software and hardware support personnel and users for general scheduling or abend recovery assistance. May develop or modify job control language and procedures as necessary.
May assist in preparation of monthly workload forecasts and coordinates or assists in the coordination of schedules with user(s).
Work with auditors on SAS70 / ISO20000 audits
May act as task / shift leader in absence of Lead or Supervisor Must be willing to work weekends and be on-call
Education and Experience
High School graduate plus specialized vocational, trade school, military / technical training or equivalent work experience. Some college coursework or an associate’s degree is desirable. 3 - 5 years progressively responsible related experience demonstrating familiarity with a broad range of medium and large scale computer systems, platforms, peripherals and standard operating procedures including a basic working knowledge of scheduling and job processing languages.
Experience with batch scheduling preferred.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Experience desired with Control-M, Zeke or any combination of automated scheduling packages
