Overview:
Bloomingdale's in seeking a Culinary Manager for our flagship store on 59th St and Lexington Ave. The Culinary Manager creates excitement in our Home Store and drives traffic and sales through customer interaction. The CM educates customers on products through cooking demonstrations of housewares products. If you have a passion for cookware, and customers, love to cook and can create an atmosphere that will generate visual and sensory excitement in our store we would like to meet you.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Become familiar with product information understanding features and benefits of your product and all products in the Home Store
  • Demonstrate products and provide product information to guide customers in their decisions
  • Creates and implements inviting cooking demonstrations focusing on selling
  • Commitment to building customer relationships and loyalty through personal interaction
  • Conduct Cooking demonstrations and encourage customers to sample products while enthusiastically educating and selling
  • Recruiting outside chefs for special events
  • Assist and coordinates Special Events as needed, prepping for guest chefs, cookbook authors and celebrities
  • Educates Sales Professionals product knowledge of new merchandise
  • Partner with Bridal Registry Department and participate in Bridal Events
  • Maintain work area and equipment in accordance with Health Department standards.
  • Create opportunities for add-on sales and drives sales of key items
Skills Summary:
  • Prior background in retail or a service industry preferred.
  • Enjoy meeting and interacting with customers, demonstrates an energetic and positive attitude
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to motivate and provide feedback to sales team.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functional areas to achieve results
  • Previous demonstration experience, culinary training, culinary instruction experience, home economist, nutritionist or catering experience preferred
