Analytical Chemist: prepare flow reactors, process samples, and analyze reaction products with GC



Description

Our Analytical Chemist will prepare flow reactors, process samples, and analyze the reaction products using GC/MS as part of our team developing fuel catalysts. This work requires good hands-on experimental skills and familiarity with set-up, troubleshooting, and operation of analytical instruments. Familiar with wet chemical techniques. Proficiency in data collection, data reduction, and experiment tracking. Prepare analytical standards and run calibration on equipment. Perform routine equipment maintenance to assure proper operational conditions. Our Catalyst Scientist will direct the work and provide oversight.

Required Skills/Experience:

Education: BS Chemistry

4 years experience in GC/MS and wet chemistry. Industrial experience in petroleum processing industry or production environment preferred. Must be familiar with wet chemical techniques such as titrations, and extractions. precipitation, separation/purification. Operation of equipment such as pumps, filter presses and pan filters, reactors, valves, PH probes, Rotovap, ovens. Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 35lbs. Will consider a recent graduate with significant GC/MS experience.
