And, as part of our $110 million expansion project, Kendall Regional Medical Center recently opened a four-story building complete with emergency, operating, open-heart and ICU patient rooms.

We are currently seeking a full time Inpatient Medical Coder to join our team. The Inpatient Medical Coder is responsible for all coding and abstracting of inpatient medical records, assisting with the outpatient medical records is there should be a backlog. Monitors and maintains the unbilled financial report on a daily basis. Supports patient care delivery as defined within department policies and procedures. Uses the 3m coder-finder and ICD-9cm coding systems to code diagnosis and procedures.

Qualified candidates will possess:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Certified by the American Health Information Management Association as a Coding Specialist (CCS) or ART, RRA

  • Advanced understanding of medical terminology and body systems/anatomy, physiology and concepts of disease

  • 1-3 years of HIM experience in coding

  • Previous experience with Meditech patient documentation system preferred
