Clinical Lab Technician - FT Eves


Clinical Laboratory Technician must meet one of the three following educational criteria:
-AAS degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or it's equivalent.
-Successful completion of the Medical Laboratory Specialist program offered through the military.
-High school graduate with documentation of appropriate technical training.

-Registration by American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) of preferred.

-Ability to operate various technical instrumentation; Ability to work with departmental computer applications (LIS); Ability to read, analyze & interpret technical procedures & instrument printouts; Ability to present information & respond to questions from co-workers & physicians; Ability to work with math concepts of normal range & standard deviations. Understands & applies concepts such as fractions, percentages & ratios as they relate to technical procedures; Ability to recognize & notify the supervisor of problems regarding instrumentation, technical procedures, testing results & assist with problem solving; Ability to interpret instructions from SOP & vendor manuals that are in written and/or diagram form; Ability to take verbal instruction from physicians, nurses, co-workers & vendors, regarding technical areas of responsibility.

-Perform medical laboratory tests & analyses to provide data for diagnosis & treatment of patients. These tests are associated with biochemical, hematological, microbiological and urinalysis procedures.
