This role is responsible for management of the IT team providing the overall Microsoft Infrastructure Operations within Health Dialog. This includes but is not limited to Technical Systems Design, Capacity Planning, Monitoring, etc.
Primary Responsibilities
Technical System Design
- Define the scale and scope of infrastructure environments. Provide and interpret infrastructure and data requirements to project managers, the QA and Release managers, Security, and Operations teams.
- Working with the other IT groups, develop and maintain a documented infrastructure roadmap that provides reduced overall complexity and increased cost efficiency. This roadmap will allow for the re-usability and adaptability of our infrastructure.
- Manage the creation and maintance of the Health dialog design library.
- Design documents for all systems at Health dialog - Dev, Qa, Production.
- Design templates to expidite new system design and consistency
- Participate in all phases of design and development in the role of department manager; contribute to the definition and rationalization of physical and logical system architectures.
- Conduct scope/design review to ensure overall quality and of the project infrastructure designs; guide engineers through implementation of the infrastructure; collaborate colleagues on infrastructure topics.
- Maintain expertise in the area of architecture, including industry trends, strategies, and products to ensure that assets are effectively and efficiently utilized.
- In conjunction with application architects and systems engineering experts determine functional elements required for the subject technologies and business functions. Determine how the functional elements will map to physical hardware requirements for size and scalability, and participate in the definition of performance and capacity requirements for the system.
- Assess infrastructures and recommend solutions for upgrading the infrastructure to meet business needs or to adapt and transform existing business functions to enterprise capabilities.
- Participates in strategic and tactical leadership and decision-making for company-wide business systems.
- Communicates, verbally and in writing, to third parties and internal users in the installation, problem identification, and trouble shooting processes.
- Provide written status report to management.
- Contributes to the positive and collaborative team efforts of the department and company.
- Serves as technical escalation for operations supported processes as needed.
- Maintains confidentiality of sensitive company and PHI data without exception.
- Maintaine industry best practice in regards to overall system design.
Performs other duties as assigned.
- Project Management of select infrastructure centric projects. To include; sponsorship gathering, generation of project plans, team creation, milestone reporting and budget reporting.
- Acquire project sponsorship and buy-in
- Recommends and submits budget amounts and options for daily operations as well as future enhancements.
- Develop project plans
- Directly support and / or supervises staff during project implementation.
- Maintains detailed records of communication, correspondence and responses to assist in planning process.
- Assure that technical changes as needed during implementation are documented.
- Contributes to the positive team efforts of the department and company.
- Coordinates special projects related to department and company goals, as assigned.
- Directly supervises department staff on day to day as well as project related activity
- Participates in strategic and tactical leadership and decision-making for company-wide business systems.
- Researches questions and follows-up regarding the design of computing and server solutions. Coordinate with others in developing solutions.
- Assist with the establishment and implementation of Heath Dialog computer policies, procedures, and standards and ensure their conformance with company objectives.
- Develop or contribute to business strategy; identify what business capability the infrastructure may enable and identify risks associated with the business starategy solutions.
- Maintains knowledge of related computing technology and application through continuing education.
- Communicates, verbally and in writing, to third parties and internal users in the installation, problem identification, and trouble shooting processes.
- Maintains detailed records of communication, correspondence and responses.
- Provide written status report of Microsoft operations.
- Contributes to the positive team efforts of the department and company.
- Serves as technical escalate for department supported processes

- MCSE 2000/2003 certification desired but not required with experience
