The candidate will be a member of a team in the definition and configuration of the platforms used in our VIDA product line. The Windows Architect is responsible for creating platforms that can maintain the highest availability and best possible performance of multiple large-scale public safety voice systems. Once the platforms have been defined they will be responsible for documenting installation, securing and maintenance of these platforms.
Responsibilities will include:
Specify new hardware and operating systems; Develop monitoring tools to proactively identify problems with systems, applications, and networks; Aggressively lead problems to resolution; Windows Server /Workstation administration; Executes/Creates/Updates Standard Operating Procedures accordingly; Coordinate and facilitate activities with vendors and escalation support teams; Implement system changes, jobs and maintenance as directed and work with teams to follow-up on bugs and issues introduced during this process
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of system administration experience in a Windows environment
- Bachelors Degree Required
- Experience with Active Directory and Group Policies
- Experience with SQL Server
- Experience with TCP/IP and networking principles
- Experience in security and security auditing tools
- Experience with troubleshooting in regards to disk I/O, CPU usage, load, and network connections & usage
- Experience with cross platform backup and restore solutions
- Experience with the Solaris/UNIX operating system
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Professional certifications (e.g. MCSE) are a plus
- Some programming experience
- Knowledge of VoIP systems
- Demonstrated ability to remains calm under pressure, to smoothly context switch between issues and prioritize them appropriately
- Has clear & concise ability to communicate issues in a less technical sense to management and business
- Demonstrate leadership skills which include, Customer Focus, Change Management, Teamwork, Diversity, Integrity
- Self-motivated team player, able to set priorities and manage to deadlines
- Excellent trouble-shooting, communication and customer service skills
- Demonstrated ability to proactively resolve problems
