Hematology Supervisor position with premier Clinical Reference Laboratory / relocation offered



.......... Our client is a full-service, clinical reference laboratory currently seeking a Hematology Department Supervisor to be based in Austin, TX. This is a full time, third shift position with working hours being approximately 11pm to 7am, Monday through Friday. Reporting to the Technical Operations Manager, this individual will handle the daily supervision of operations within the Hematology department, ensuring that all sections are adequately staffed and work efficiently for the specimen volume.

Role encompasses participation in technical operations including QA/QC checks, system maintenance issues, accuracy of test results, as well as troubleshooting and problem resolution within Hematology. Will act as reference source for technologists in the correlation of test data, implement solutions in processing; and ensure accurate and timely delivery of test data. Scope of duties will also entail hiring, orientating, training and evaluating of testing staff, instituting and revising departmental policies and procedures as needed, maintaining expenses within a budget, and evaluting data to determine the most cost effective methods and supplies. Main equipment used in this department is the Sysmex Line and Diesse Sedrate Analyzer.

Required for this position is 5+ years of related supervisory experience, with hematology and urinalysis knowledge and MT (ASCP) credential. Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret technical data / reports, and write accurate and concise clinical documents and correspondence. The ability to communicate effecitvely at all levels within the laboratory is important. Hematology specialty certification preferred.
