Description Evercare Hospice brings together professionals and specially trained volunteers who offer expertise, experience and interventions to patients with life-limiting conditions, ensuring they are treated with respect and dignity during a uniquely personal time of transition. Position Description:
Responsible for the recruitment, retention, coordination, training and supervision of volunteers providing services to the hospice patients and families.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Act as a liaison between the hospice and the communities it serves
- Maintain volunteer services documentation and volunteer personnel files in accordance with Federal and State regulations, and hospice policies
- Develop and execute the volunteer training program
- Function as a member of the interdisciplinary group
- Recruit, interview, and supervise applicants for volunteer work
- Coordinate and conduct volunteer training program
- Review written reports and observe work activities of volunteers to evaluate work and resolve grievances
- Participate in programs of public education and public recognition for volunteer workers and for related community groups
- Develop and supervise current and accurate records and reports including statistical data for program evaluation
- Assist interdisciplinary team to maximize the use of volunteer workers to be attuned to indicators for referral
- Develop contacts and utilize community resources to provide adjunct support services to enhance program delivery
- Attend staff meetings and participate in other such appropriate meetings and committee
- Perform quality improvement activities as required
- Perform other duties as assigned
