Overview:
The responsibility of the Regional Director of Loss Prevention is to support the company’s business plan by providing leadership, expertise, and training to their assigned region for the reduction of inventory shortage and controllable losses. To be successful, the Regional Director of Loss Prevention must consistently demonstrate the following core competencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for directing the overall loss prevention effort and shortage reduction programs within their assigned region.
- Effectively communicating and executing LP plans and programs.
- Directly responsible for building, maintaining, and enhancing the credibility of the loss prevention department.
- Influencing necessary change.
- Able to make and stand behind decisions.
- Demonstrate the ability to think “outside of the box” and take a risk in ideas, programs, and people.
- Responsible for setting and enforcing the policies and standards of the loss prevention department and the company.
- Responsible for evaluating the training, development, and performance of all loss prevention staff within their assigned region.
- Drive for Results. Set goals and objectives of staff, which are challenging, and realistic.
- Drive the importance of results and shortage reduction.
- Demonstrate the ability to mentor and analyze situations from all aspects by giving clear direction and explanation by communicating clearly what is expected.
- Build positive business relationships both within and outside of the corporation.
- Developing an open line of communication.
- Willingness to listen and accept opinions of others
- Willingness to include others in plans and decisions
- The ability to learn and develop from others within the organization.
