QA Manager: Quest Software, Inc.

The QA Manager will be responsible for managing and participating in the testing of the software applications to assure quality and stability.



Qualifications and Experience:

· 5+ years of SQA experience essential;

· 2+ years of SQA managing team of 3+ QA engineers;

· 3+ years hands on experience with test automation software;

· 3+ successfully delivered enterprise sized packaged software projects;

· Demonstrated expertise in QA procedures and methodology;

· 3+ years plus experience in software development a plus.


Responsibilities:

1. Define scope of QA projects, estimate and develop QA plans;
2. Proactively drive QA projects execution;
3. Reviews and approves Quality Control Plans prior to implementation to ensure that the testing effort is properly scoped and the schedule is reasonable and achievable within the resource constraints assigned;
4. Coordinate activities of QA Engineers and mentor more junior team members;
5. Act as a QA senior contributor with hands-on work;
6. Create projects visibility for upper management;
7. Participate in defect/bug bash, status meetings
8. Implement test automation software solution to automate testing
9. Identify issue trends, change test plans accordingly, communicate changes to team members and other departments
10. Establish and maintain feedback processes like test cases review, analyzing issues coming from field and support, etc
11. Review product documentation related to a feature area and verify that the documentation accurately reflects product functionality
12. Study new technologies and products required by FRS testing process
13. Apply strategies and approaches for identifying risks with implementation, assessing their likelihood and initiating strategies to test for those risks
14. Apply and recommend improvements to the current software test methodologies and processes.

Technical Skills:

Windows desktop platforms, Windows server platforms, Active Directory, Terminal Services / Citrix, virtualization platforms such as VMware, Linux, Mac, various protocols such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, SSL, RDP/ICA, etc., smartcard technologies, web services concepts.


Education:
· BS in Engineering or Science or equivalent experience in computer science field
