Overview:
The position is responsible for overall administration, communication, and regulatory compliance of health and welfare programs sponsored by Agfa Corporation and participating employers. Administers health and welfare programs including medical (PPO plans and HMO's), dental, disability, life insurance, medical and dependent spending accounts, retiree medical accounts and COBRA in conjunction with contracted vendors and regulatory authorities for 2,000 employees and 1,000 retirees.
Responsibilities: Responsible for resolving a wide-range of benefit issues. In administering the health and welfare programs, jobholder must ensure continued compliance with state and federal regulations, and fair and equitable treatment for all employees as defined by the plan documents Thorough knowledge of health and welfare benefits plan terminology and concepts. Extensive knowledge of benefits legislation required. A good working knowledge of HRIS, PC and mainframe systems is a must. Experience in using and administering software and mainframe systems. Must work independently, take initiative, and make solid judgments. Must coordinate activities with other members of employee benefit team. Must also be able to demonstrate excellent customer service, communication, problem-solving and project management skills. Handle all claims escalations. Collect and provide information to assist the BPAC in resolving ERISA claims. Prepare and execute all regulatory filings for health and welfare plans (including, but not limited to, Forms 5500, SARs). Plan and coordinate annual open enrollment activities. Implement and administer the integration process for acquisition and divestitures with payroll, vendors and effected employees and/or retirees. Participate in the vendor selection process and services negotiations. Coordinate: - the preparation, review and delivery of plan communications (including SPDs, SMMs, announcements, process changes, etc.)

Qualifications: BS in Human Resources, Business Management or Finance. CEBS or CBP desired. MBA or equivalent a plus. 7 - 10 years of benefit administration and regulatory compliance expertise.
