Strong experience with Oracle Business Suite -
Our very well-established Medical Device client is seeking a seasoned Oracle Applications Database Administrator.
The Oracle DBA works within the Information Technology organization, reporting directly to the Sr. Manager of Engineering Services. This position is responsible for direction, support and maintenance of Oracle e-Business Suite Release 11i and higher.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Database and Oracle 11i Applications administration, support, and maintenance.
- Patching and upgrading Oracle Applications.
- Database maintenance and migration
- Oracle Database and Applications security
- Troubleshooting both Oracle Database and Applications
- Backup and recovery of Oracle Database and Applications
- Performance tuning of Oracle Database and 11i Applications
- Disaster recovery of Oracle Database and Applications
- Capacity planning and management
- System documentation (AIM, FDA, SOX).
- Implementation Support of Oracle Applications
ยง Standby Database and Data Guard for Oracle 10g and higher
- Install and maintain all software components as required to run Oracle Applications ERP Suite. To include, but not limited to, Forms Server, Apps Server, Concurrent Managers.
- SQL*Loader experience.
REQUIREMENTS:
The following are essential job requirements
- Follow and enforce change management process
- Willingness to work off-hours in order to apply DB patches during maintenance windows
- Hands-on experience with Oracle Application and Database maintenance experience, which includes patching, upgrades, and admin utilities console. Cloning test and development environments from production environment
- Minimum of 8 years experience with Oracle Database Administrator in a business environment including installing, upgrading and restoring/recovering databases (Oracle 10G and higher).
- 8 years Oracle experience with at least three full life cycles Oracle Application 11i implementation/ upgrade project completion as an Application DBA.
- Knowledge in underlying Oracle Applications database architecture - schemas/products, database objects, file system structure, tables, views, packages, procedures, functions, triggers, sequences, indexes, and constraints is a must.
- Experience with configuration, load balancing, backup/recovery, sizing and space management, PL/SQL tuning, diagnostics, and proficient with the use of Oracle's Enterprise Manager Tool.
- Excellent trouble shooting abilities to identify root cause of production issues and resolve them quickly in order to maintain high availability. Experience opening, managing, and resolving Oracle SR's is a must.
- Demonstrated ability to create a robust implementation plan for a database related project. Demonstrated experience with project management methodologies, analysis and cost controls
- This person must be extremely hands-on as he/she will be the "go to" person for problem resolution
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and client-facing skills. Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts to a business audience
- Ability to manage stress well under difficult situations and when dealing with production issues
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with a focus on delivery, responsiveness, ownership and accountability are also critical
- Hardware infrastructure expertise
- Oracle database Admin certification desired.
The successful candidate will have at least 8 years of experience as a power user in the Oracle Business Suite, and willing to work on weekends if needed for upgrades and support. Experience working in a regulated environment is highly desirable.
