Executive Director - Finance and Administrative Services: Rabin Tate

Our client, a mid-sized law firm in suburban New Jersey, is seeking an Executive Director who will be responsible for all administrative activities of the firm with the exception of those that are HR-focused. He or she will also be responsible for guiding business decisions of the corporation to maximize the profitability and success of the firm and its subsidiaries. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the management team, attending meetings of the Administration Committee, Board of Directors and Executive Committee.

Reporting to the successful candidate will be the firm's Director of Financial Services, Director of Information Technology Services, and Director of Facility Services. The Director of Marketing may or may not report to this position.

The successful candidate must have a fairly in-depth knowledge of Finance; knowledge of the technology, facilities, and marketing functions would be extremely helpful as well. The "perfect candidate" today might be the Executive Director of a relatively small (30-60 attorney firm) with aspirations for a similar position at a larger firm; alternatively, the "perfect candidate" might be a finance person from a law firm or a consulting firm seeking a position with broader responsibilities.

While it is expected that the successful candidate will be adroit at running this successful business, the candidate will also be expected to be instrumental in bringing the firm to the next level. The candidate will be expected to identify and address problems in the firm independently. Certainly all candidates will be expected to be self-starters and hard workers, with the ability to satisfy the internal stakeholders (attorneys) as well as be effective managers of those in his/her work group.

An MBA degree is strongly preferred.
