POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Our volunteers play a very important part in our organization by assisting our staff in order for them to have the opportunity to enhance patient care. Our volunteers represent all segments of our community. They range in age from 13 to 91 and come from all parts of the Valley.
We have many different opportunities available as well as many options for times to volunteer, however we are looking for a commitment of at least six months. We always need volunteers for nights and weekends as well as during the daytime. The following is just a sampling of the types of volunteer opportunities we have available:
• Greet and assist patients and their families at our information desks
• Provide directional assistance to patients and escort them through the hospital
• Work directly with pediatric patients in our Child Life Center helping to normalize their lives as much as possible while hospitalized
• Assist in discharging patients from our OB area on Saturday and/or Sunday
• Assist with special events and special projects
• Utilize computer and clerical skills in an office environment
• Be a hospitality host and greeter at the Ronald McDonald Family Room - a respite room for parents and adult family members with children receiving treatment at St. Joseph's
REQUIREMENTS:
If interested in any of the volunteer programs, please complete a profile and we will contact you to schedule a one on one interview to discuss your interests. Should you decide to volunteer, you will attend an orientation to familiarize you with our policies and procedures to ensure your safety, complete a background investigation and be scheduled for a basic health and immunization screening along with a TB test.
