JOB TITLE: ONSITE TECHNICAL SUPPORT ENGINEER

RSA Security is seeking a versatile and talented Onsite Support Engineer to assist an RSA customer in developing secure applications using the RSA Key Manager client APIs and the RSA BSAFE line of Software Development Kits (SDKs). RSA Key Manager allows customers to easily manage the lifecycle and storage of symmetric encryption keys in environments requiring proper key management. BSAFE SDKs are designed to allow RSA customers to quickly and cost-effectively build privacy, authentication and encryption technology into virtually any business application to secure data and authenticate people, devices and transactions.

The Onsite Support Engineer will be the dedicated, onsite technical support contact for an RSA Key Manager customer. This position interacts directly with the customer/user where the product is highly technical or sophisticated in nature and where the user has a technical background. This role will be responsible for managing all aspects of the technical support relationship, from initial contact to case resolution. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding communications and interpersonal skills, and an exceptional ability to problem-solve. The Onsite Support Engineer will work directly with product management, professional services and engineering to meet customer service level commitments, increase customer satisfaction and resolve customer issues.

Position responsibilities include:

- Being responsive and thorough in addressing customer support issues.

- Working with customer to resolve in-depth, hands-on programming issues.

- Managing small projects with customers.

- Managing customer expectations.

- Reporting design, reliability and maintenance problems or bugs to Continuing Engineering/Software Engineering.

- Providing on-site customer training.

- Assisting the professional services organization with the implementation of customer requested projects.

- Facilitating the resolution of customer reported technical issues.

- Collaborating and communicating with other engineers in RSA’s support organization in Australia and Asia , pursuant to RSA’s “Follow the Sun” philosophy regarding customer support.

- Identifying best practices, and developing repeatable procedures to streamline customer support processes.

- Some 24x7 support as needed

REQUIREMENTS:

- BS in Computer Science/Engineering or related experience required.

- 1-2 years development experience with C/C++.

- 1-2 years development experience with Java.

- Must possess solid programming skills and demonstrate effective software design skills.

- Experience programming in multiple OS environments, specifically UNIX, and Windows/Intel platforms preferred.

- Must possess exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and active listening) mandatory.

- Detail-oriented and highly organized person, ability to juggle multiple priorities and parallel projects.

- Well-developed interpersonal skills. Ability to develop rapport and effectively negotiate commitments with customer without unnecessarily committing RSA resources.

- Knowledge of cryptography, PKI preferred.

- Key management understanding as it relates to encryption

- Tokenization methodology for Data Security Models

- PKI understanding

- Encryption background (BSAFE toolkit)
