• Design, document, build, test, implement and routinely update core operating system images for enterprise workstations.
• Work closely with various enterprise application and support teams to configure and maintain a suitable standard windows configuration.
• Troubleshoot, analyze, diagnose and engage appropriate technical resources to resolve image issues.
• Work independently to provide prompt and professional resolution to post deployment imaging issues.
• Assist with Antivirus Services and Systems Management Services as required.
• Perform logon script and group policy tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
• BSCE or BSCS with a minimum of 8-10 years relevant experience.
• MCSE, MCP or other Microsoft certifications.
• Windows XP operating system automated configuration and deployment.
• Windows XP System Preparation tools –SYSPREP.
• Microsoft BDD or newer Deployment Toolkit & Windows Automated Installation Kit (WAIK).
• Microsoft Windows Pre-installation Environment (WinPE).
• Symantec Ghost32 or Microsoft ImageX (image file) imaging technologies.
• Windows Installer (msiexec), Installshield and other application installation methods.
• Microsoft’s Internet Explorer Administration Kit 6, 7 or 8 (IEAK).
• PowerShell, Wise Package Studio, Kix32, Visual Basic, Batch scripting tools.
Preferred Additional Skills:
• Good organizational skills, good problem solving skills, and a willingness to work with teams, individuals, and suppliers.
• Knowledge of Microsoft backend infrastructure services.
• Familiar with Systems Management Server (SMS/SCCM) for creating packages, programs and advertisements.
• Knowledgeable with configuring and automating the deployment of Microsoft Office and other applications.
• Ability to configure and deploy Windows Vista or Windows 7.
• Configuring and applying Active Directory Group Policy management templates.
• Desktop / Application Virtualization technologies.
