Job Description

Position Profile
Under the supervision of the Director of Pharmacy, is responsible for procurement, receiving and inventory control of pharmaceuticals; for processing purchase orders and invoiced; for maintaining contract files and for compliance with contracts; for response to pharmaceutical recalls. Alerts the Director of Pharmacy in changes in buying tends, including any unusual use of drugs and use of new costly drugs. Capable of fully functioning under the Pharmacy Technician job description. Facilitates teamwork and good interdepartmental relationships. Collaborates with other health care disciplines and support the needs of patients and families. Maintains confidentiality of patient, staff, department and hospital information. Participates in continuous quality improvement. Performs other related functions as assigned. Demonstrates ability to perform competencies as outlined in Pharmacy Competency Assessment tools. Demonstrates age-specific care as established for area and job title. *HJ

Basic Qualifications (required)
California Pharmacy Technician License.

Minimum Qualifications (required)
Minimal skills in word processing and spreadsheet software; ability to use drug wholesaler online software.

Preferred Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Highly prefer minimum of one-year hospital inpatient pharmacy technician experience.
