Security Officer Job Description :
Under the direction of the Lead Security Officer, provides security and safety of all staff, visitors, and patients. Handles all traffic related matters. Functions as a resource regarding hospital information for patients & visitors. Patrols campus to ensure a safe environment. Projects an image of professionalism in communication, appearance and conduct. Supports the Security department mission. Participates in the continuous quality improvement process. Maintains a working knowledge of departmental standard operating procedures. This knowledge may include the use of specialized instrumentation, Quality Control requirements, and preventive maintenance. Maintain an active knowledge of security emergency procedures and environment of care standards. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
High School Diploma or General Education Degree. Must have valid Guard Card. Must have BLS/CPR - Adult, Child, Infant and AED certification. Any combination of experience equivalent to at least 2 years in security operations or field experience in a law enforcement agency. Healthcare Security experience preferred. Record must be free from convictions or any felony or any misdemeanor involving moral turpitude and from an excessive number of citations for traffic violations. Must possess a current state of California Drivers License. Must have the ability to treat everyone, regardless of his or her nationality, religious beliefs, economic status or gender, in a professional manner. Demonstrates effective communication, interpersonal skills, organizational ability, knowledge of proper body mechanics, safety measures and infection control, ability to follow instructions, knowledge of section specific test information and instrumentation may be required. Having a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Must have or obtain I.A.H.S.S. Basic certification with in 12 months. |
