Overview:
This position is responsible to develop key business relationships in domestic and/or international commercial and government markets. The client focus for this position is US based Government Agencies and Pacific Rim. Primary responsibility is to identify and develop opportunities for VIAP business expansion. Develop marketing strategies and propose long range business plans. Acts as liaison with national and international government agencies and offices.
Responsibilities:
The qualified candidate will have significant international experience, superb communications skills, able to think both creatively and analytically, and be able to represent VIAP to important US Government clients and communicate with local in country dignitaries, government officials and business leaders.
- - Meet and exceed annual sales target and business development projections.
- - Direct all sales activities, including the capture (positioning) and proposal phases.
- - Development and implement winning strategies for assigned sales opportunities in close cooperation with VIAP projects, operational staff and team members.
- - Plan and evaluate marketing strategy for VIAP.
- - Coordinate public relations efforts to reach target markets.
- - Develop proposals and cost estimates and negotiate timelines and budgets.
- - Maintain a strong relationship with assigned high profile client contacts/ business partners and benchmark competitors.
- - Meet and exceed operational performance goals while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction, project quality measures, and effective health and safety and environmental programs.
- - International travel is required.
Qualifications:
- - Minimum 10 years experience in progressively responsible sales and sales management roles within DoD or other governmental agencies and international commercial and governmental agencies.
- - Access to extensive network of high profile contacts, both governmental and international.
- - Ten or more years of strategic planning experience including successful capture strategies for large national federal procurements and international commercial projects.
- - Private industry experience and proven success record in winning contracts that achieve Gross Operating Income (GOI) and Free Cash Flow (FCF) and realistic risk expectations.
- - Excellent leadership, communications, proposal management and technical writing skills.
- - Thorough understanding of sales processes, systems and tools.
- - Strong leadership skills and experience.
- - High quality and effective communication skills.
- - Extensive program and project management experience.
- - Financial and budgetary management of multiple projects/ proposals.
- - Diverse experience in construction, program management, and related business fields.
- - Ability to collaborate with a variety of internal and external constituents and stakeholders.
Bachelor's degree in technical field; Master's in preferred and/ a minimum of ten to twelve years of design engineering or program management experience, in addition to government sales and commercial marketing/ sales experience. Experience in international business development and project management with international Engineering and Construction markets.
