We have a challenging opportunity at our Corporate Headquarters for a Government Project Analyst. This position requires heavy sector analysis and sector modeling support to build business case strategies around pricing across Government, Schools & Commercial Account customers. The selected candidate will be responsible for data analysis, industry research, and bid pricing. This position requires an analytical approach along with a consultative problem solving skill set. This role will be critical to the foundation of a competency center that handles bid opportunities for Federal, State and local government.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage large number of incoming bid opportunities across three sub-sectors to develop evaluative criteria to focus on qualified bid opportunities (probability tool) and develop a database for applying historic data to the current opportunity (applying historical learning). The analyst position will have experience in the government space and tracking historical data to ensure our customer’s are appropriately priced against the competitive landscape / prepared in a timely and accurate manner

Analyze and track pricing effectiveness based on dealer performance in bid scenarios through extracting data from Hyperion, SAP, etc. to build analytical baseline

Support margin analysis by creating model to identify manufacturer pricing (file cost) inclusion of all supplier rebate programs (Gross Margin), adjusting for cost-to-serve (Contribution Margin) and netting out to EBIT.

Analyze and manage pricing data across United Stationers, LaGasse and ORS NASCO

Coordinate specific pricing opportunities with the appropriate Pricing Department and Customer Care Call Center

Act as a liaison on pricing with District Sales Managers (DSM’s) and Account Managers

Regression analysis to determine effective marketing program
Key Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree Required
-
MBA a plus
-
5 years experience to include contract and bidding/project pricing experience

GSA, School State and Local experience a plus

Demonstrated ability to push projects through to completion

Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with others

Strong analytical skills including data modeling

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required.
