WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION?
This position partners with our insureds and claim centers to deliver the best possible result in pending litigation against our insureds/the firm.

• Analyzing complex legal and factual issues, conduct extensive, well-reasoned legal research, independently develop and present defense strategies on behalf of clients.
• Preparing complex pleadings, written discovery, depositions, motions and briefs in support of defense strategies without supervision because of level of experience and expertise.
• Providing effective and timely communications, information, legal advice and other services to clients and claims on legal and factual issues.
• Communicating with the court, witnesses, opposing counsel and co-counsel in a manner consistent with established office procedures.
• Managing the prompt, efficient and effective disposition of assigned cases.
• Preparing and presenting witnesses and evidence at trials, judicial and administrative hearings, arbitrations and alternative dispute resolutions.
• Researching, drafting, filing and arguing appellate briefs in reviewing courts on behalf of clients. Attending legal education seminars in order to maintain high level of professional expertise.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Qualified candidates will have the following requirements:

• Experienced litigation attorney with a minimum of five to ten years law practice, preferably within the insurance defense industry dealing with workers compensation claims, tort experience a plus.
