Join our dedicated and talented team of individuals all focused on creating the best products in the marketplace. We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Research Director, Data Mining in our San Francisco offices.
Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver the next generation of AT&T technologies; define the research roadmap; launch and execute impactful research projects; oversee the development of research prototypes; work closely with product engineering to transfer technology; responsible for recruiting top-notch scientific talent, and create an environment that promotes innovation, patents and publications in top-tier conferences and journals; enhance the visibility of the organization in the research community. Qualifications · 10+ years of experience in the software domain, and previous experience in productizing research technology at Internet scale. · 3+ years in managing labs or research projects as PI or research project manager. · Strong experience in web data mining, web scale information extraction, machine learning, statistical modeling and text mining applied to large-scale data. · Deep mastery a wide range of data mining techniques, tools, and methodologies with a demonstrated capability to apply this to a broad range of web and other data including both structured and unstructured data. · Good knowledge of other technical areas such NLP, speech, graph algorithms, database systems, large-scale computing. · Excellent research track record with publications in leading conferences and journals, and participation on program committees, editorial boards, and advisory panels. · Excellent oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal and influencing abilities. · Ability to define and launch new projects that will impact the business, and execute them according to specific timelines. · Ability to manage highly technical teams, to collaborate across organizational boundaries, and to transfer technology.
Education:
PhD in Computer Science or related area.
