Special Info: What can you do if given the chance?
This position will visit AAA offices in VA, MD and DE as part of routine responsibility which will require some overnight stays. Position will be ideally located in Northern VA or DC Metro area.

Schedule Required: 9-5, M-F generally with some weekends and some overnight travel.
Position Summary:
Overview of Responsibilities:

To provide AAA members with relevant exclusive member discounts, thereby ensuring and increasing the members perception of the AAA membership as one of Exceptional Value, impacting membership retention rates and club revenues and meeting organizational goals.
The Coordinator will effectively prospect and sell new vendors into the program with three program benefits in mind: Exceptional member benefit, Marketing support, and Commission over ride.
The Coordinator will educate associates of the correlation between our AAA. Use it for all its Worth brand initiative and the SYC&S program benefits, by driving awareness of the membership card to Top of Wallet familiarity for everyday savings.
Maintain relationship with current key merchants/services to support SYC&S program


Detailed Duties/Responsibilities/Scope

Responsible for assigned region: Support one of two regions through regular communication and travel within the club territory. The North, comprised of the Eastern and Northern retail territories and the South, comprised of the Central and Southern retail territories. (40%)
o Promote effective cross-selling for all SYC&S products and services by expanding associate knowledge of the functions and benefits.
o Disseminate promotional materials for internal and external use.
o Assess associate service skills and coaches associates for improved delivery.
o Develop and train AAA Associates in all aspects of the SYC&S program and partners including monthly promotions, special offers, and The Phantom Caller.
o Maintain a strong presence in the club branches with regular visits. Order branch materials and fulfill branch office requests.
o Assist in the development and Training of vendors employees in SYC&S concept, procedures, total member satisfaction and specific discount offers, as well as monitor and assure compliance through mystery shopping, surveys, etc.
o Participate in department selected events for designated region and or AAA Mid-Atlantic.
Develop and pursue a list of relevant prospects to add to the savings network in order to achieve annual partner acquisition and revenue growth targets. (30%)
o Use PC-based software; develop proposal packages including the composition of letters to prospects introducing the SYC&S Program, as well as related collateral correspondence. Tailor existing proposal information to specific needs of the prospects in order to attract business.
o Meet with prospects in order to present SYC&S Program information.
o Negotiate partner/member offer for maximized member benefit
o Follow up as appropriate to secure a high level of vendor participation.
o Follow up with training/awareness of internal associates
o Prepare visitation reports as assigned by Manager. Track results (number and volume of discounts by vendor); analyze results and report on progress of program to department management.
Responds to program concerns and inquiries while maintaining strong customer satisfaction. (6%)
Implement marketing responsibilities assigned by SYC&S management including submission of information/content for on-line opportunities to insure strong presence and utilization of AAA.com/save. (3%)
Handle program concerns and inquiries within two days from receiving utilizing appropriate methods of communication. Maintaining records is essential. (5 %)
Work with the Manager, SYC&S to brainstorm and identify business opportunities. (3 %)
Oversee the process for the renewal of all local and designated regional vendor contracts for assigned territory. (3 %)
Prepare and submit first level updates for the national and department vendor database. (2%)
Identify and develop segment areas for revenue and usage growth. (2%)
Ensure strict adherence to budgetary guidelines set by Manager. (1 %)
Responsible for upkeep and enhancement of the retail display program. (1%)
Participates in the development of promotional collateral materials for internal and external use and disseminates accordingly as assigned by manager. (1%)
Participate in department selected trade shows in all regions. (1%)
Work with SYC&S Management team, to enhance and execute the annual business plan. (1 %)
Supports all marketing efforts including supporting permissive e-mail newsletter monthly content submissions for SYC&S. (1 %)


Requirements
Preferred: Bachelors degree in Marketing, Sales, Business Management or related field, or equivalent business to business sales experience.
Work experience: Minimum of 3 years related work experience in retail marketing or sales environment, including customer service responsibilities; with general knowledge of accounting principles.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
Incumbent must possess creative talents in order to develop new, innovative promotional tactics.
Incumbent must possess analytical skill to discern and focus on partners or prospective partners that will be best provide the necessary attributes to grow the SYC&S program in both member benefit and through commission override.
Valid drivers license is necessary. Ability to travel extensively within the assigned region , most of which is daily commute with occasional overnight stays
