Associate General Counsel
By providing 60 million Americans with information, tools and solutions, we are helping to guide them through the health care system, financing their health care needs, and enabling them to achieve their personal health and well-being goals.
Positions in this function provide legal advice and services on issues concerning the rights, obligations, risks and privileges of the organization. Protect the organization's rights in contract negotiations, settlements and litigation. Acquire deep knowledge of the industry and the specific business practices of OptumHealth so as to best advise senior business leaders. Provides a full range of legal advice and services and may specialize in one of more areas such as mergers and acquisitions, commercial law, contracts law, benefit law, insurance law, regulatory and compliance. Life and Disability insurance experience a plus. Requires a J.D. - Generally work is self-directed and not prescribed.- Works with less structured, more complex issues.- Serves as a resource to others- Strong written and verbal communication skills required- In house corporate experience a plus.
