Job Title: Contract – Construction Manager

Location: Evansville , IN Travel: 5% Relocation: Local candidates only, or those who can relocate on their own. Some relocation assistance will be given.

Pay Rate: $35 - $45 per hour (this rate includes all personal & living expenses)

Duration: 2 years. Could be extended based on personal performance and company needs.

Note: This is an urgent assignment needing the right person to start work in 3 weeks.

Group Info: Support the Engineering group at a growing food/beverage/nutritional manufacturing plant.

Job Description:

60%: Provide construction management services working from an office environment

40%: Provide construction management support working in the field where the facility is being built or the equipment is being installed.

The Construction Manager will be the client’s Owner Representative, working closely with the architect and design engineering company. Will supervise the work of general contractors and other contractors for facility construction, mechanical work, painting, equipment rigging, etc.

The following functions will be performed by the Construction manager:

1. Safety: ensure compliance by all contractors as per client safety requirements

2. Site practices / Good manufacturing practices: audit contractors and enforce policies

3. Design support: provide support with RFPs and cost estimates

4. Construction support: Ensure that all work is done per standards, specifications and drawings. Lead project review meetings, select special consultants, ensure safety of materials, develop progress reports, contractor work logs, etc.

5. Maintenance of drawings: Ensure current versions of specifications and drawings are used, review red-lines to drawings, arrange for as-built drawing upgrades

6. Training: remain current with relevant client training requirements

Must Have:

· Minimum of 10 years of hands-on construction experience in the manufacturing industry

· Minimum of 3 years of experience as a construction superintendent / manager /Supervisor

· Self starter – Go getter personality to be able to work independently and take initiatives

Note: The above experience is acceptable in lieu of a degree. The right person will have some trades experience and would have grown in to a supervisory role.

Nice to have:

· BS degree in construction management or another relevant field with minimum of 5 years total experience

· Minimum 2 years experience managing field / onsite construction contractors

Note: The right person will have field supervision experience managing contractors. Candidates with only design experience in an office environment will not be considered.
