Administrator Hawarden Community Hospital: Mercy Medical Center

Under general direction, assumes overall responsibility for all internal operations for Hawarden Community Hospital (HCH). This includes community and physician relations, planning, directing, controlling and evaluating activities. Serves as the local representative of Mercy in fulfilling the Management Contract obligations. Provides leadership in the management of the Hawarden Community Hospital. Is instrumental to HCH cost containment by continually assessing efficiency of supply usage and distribution costs. Interacts between purchasing and user departments to minimize costs and maximize effectiveness. Provides a framework for enabling maximum human development while channeling human energies to the accomplishments of HCH and Mercy's philosophy, mission and goals. Is instrumental in promoting quality of life for patients, personnel and the community served.

Qualifications:

1. Requires a B.A. or B.S. in business administration or related field with at least five years' experience at the administrative level; at least three (3) years as a hospital administrator.

2. Prefer M.B.A. or M.A. in hospital administration.

3. Must possess knowledge of physician's office operations.

4. Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

5. An understanding and commitment to the philosophy, mission and vision of Mercy Medical Center are required.
