Job Description: The Assistant Research Coordinator will assist in the day-to-day operations and maintenance of all aspects of the research study. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting in recruitment of participants, scheduling study visits, data collection and entry, and serving as a contact person for study participants.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Has a thorough knowledge of the study to ensure adherence to all aspects of the study protocol. Serves as a resource person to all study staff including clinicians and research assistants
Maintains organized, well-labeled source document files for study participants (e.g., participant charts, protocols, visit forms, correspondence, and other pertinent material)
Attends Investigator, site initiation, and other training meetings and trains other staff members in appropriately following the protocol procedures
Assists in following all study participants and in the recruitment of additional participants
Schedules the participants and/or sites for assessments by the protocol staff.
Administers neuropsychological and physical function testing to participants as dictated by the study protocol
Collects blood samples and assists in processing samples for further storage, testing, and distribution
Responsible for data completion and organization and for resolving data queries
Maintains systems for participation tracking and correspondence and able to create and interpret reports regarding progress of study
Assists study monitors with auditing of study procedures
Assists the Research Study Supervisor with tracking completed events to ensure appropriate sponsor billing and collections
Coordinates research assistants schedules along with other assistant coordinators from other ongoing studies to ensure no scheduling conflicts
Other duties determined by the Medical Director of the Clinic, the Principal Investigator, and Research Study Supervisor
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Bachelor's Degree preferred
Excellent organizational skills and ability to use one's time efficiently with only minimal direction
Excellent interpersonal skills required. Must be comfortable working with diverse populations
Experience in neuropsychological testing research protocols desirable
Proficiency in word processing and computer generated documents/reports required
Knowledge of data recording and procedures in clinical studies desirable
Please Note: This position requires frequent off-site travel.
