Job Description:

POSITION: Supervisor, Appeals/Edits DEPARTMENT: Business Services LOCATION: Lakewood Business Office DUTIES: Performs general supervisory duties including personnel administration and operations management to lead appeals and edits staff. Maintains appropriate staffing levels and provides technical coding/billing oversight to assist staff in appealing Commercial, Medicare and Medicaid claims. Assists in establishing/enforcing appropriate policy and procedure to meet departmental and clinic standards. Works with other Business Services sections, MIS and Clinic Sections to resolve appeal, coding and claim submission issues appropriately. Must be familiar with healthcare insurance industry and financial operations including A/R functions. Must be proficient with CPT, ICD-9, HCPCS coding. CPC certification a plus, but not required. 3 years prior healthcare billing experience required.
