Responsibilities:

  • Assess and determine risk acceptability for new and renewal business within target and acceptable industries
  • High level of technical underwriting expertise using established underwriting guidelines, standards and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain strong relationships with partner brokers adhering to marketing plans and strategies with each partner broker
  • Participate in partner broker reviews by evaluating results, relationships, creating recommendations for growth strategies and taking advantage of new opportunities
  • Manage underwriting in flow of business
  • Analyze loss control reports, industry periodical’s, quantitative and qualitative data, using clear underwriting judgment to make appropriate decisions within authority
  • Articulate underwriting decision making process to management

Qualifications:

· Minimum of 4 - 7 plus years experience

· College degree, or equivalent experience, CPCU desirable

· Strong analytical skills and good business judgment

· Good interpersonal effectiveness

· Effective negotiation, sales and influence management skills

· Ability to plan, organize and complete work within established time frames

· Ability to travel to assigned brokers in regional territory as required

· Ability to work as part of team

· Other duties as assigned
