We have grown from a small one-story wooden structure into a major healthcare provider with a 172-bed main campus, Outpatient Center, Cancer Center and several rural clinics. POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Position Summary
Responsible for the assignment of ICD-9-CM diagnostic and procedure codes with regards to DRG and APC cases. Assigns CPT4/HCPS for procedure codes.

Qualifications
Minimum
1. High school graduate or equivalent
2. At least two (2) years experience with ICD-9-CM and CPT-4 coding and 3M Interface coding system in an acute hospital.
3. Ability to possess information within a medical record to determine correct codes.
4. Computer literate

Desired
1. Possess and maintain a current Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or RHIT certificate.
2. Some college courses in Anatomy/Physiology and Medical Terminology.
3. Effective communication, both verbal and written
