Responsibilities/Description:
The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for the following activities:
- Supplier qualification
- First Article and sample approval
- Supplier development
- Supplier quality performance improvement in terms of percent defective or parts per million defective
- Supplier corrective action
- Supplier related cost of quality reduction
The candidate must be capable of effectively working with Procurement, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Clients and Suppliers to
address technical inquiries, analyze quality records and data and identify areas for improvement, coordinate corrective action
requests, and assist suppliers in the completion of root cause analysis and development of action plans for improvement.
The position reports into the Quality Assurance Manager of the facility and will require some travel to visit supplier facilities within
North America.
Qualifications:
Required
- BS in Engineering, Manufacturing/Industrial Technology or other technically related degree.
- 5 years experience in supplier quality management.
- Previous experience with rotating equipment
- Proficiency in Microsoft office applications
- Knowledge in Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing
- Ability to read and understand drawings including geometric tolerancing and dimensioning
