The Position

We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented and Spanish-speaking Inventory Control Coordinator to join our busy team.

Please note that this position requires flexibility in hours and scheduling, and includes providing after-hours and weekend support.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

· Receives, inputs, maintains and reconciles manual or computerized inventory control records in accordance with company standards, policies and procedures.

· Monitors and maintains control over the receipt, rotation and movement of inventory so that quality of product is protected from loss, damage and/or deterioration.

· Advises staff of incoming shipments, and liaises with operations to confirm product quantity and condition.

· Responds to requests for written information. Develops and produces detailed and accurate reports in accordance with department and system standards.

· Researches and resolves related problems as they arise in a timely manner. Liaises with customers and staff to collect and assess relevant information. Escalates problems to senior coordinator or supervisor.

· May participate in or lead inventory control projects, monitoring deliverables in order to meet project requirements and established deadlines.

Position Requirements

· 2-3 years of experience in accounting and/or inventory administration, or equivalent combination of experience and related education.

· Previous experience in the produce industry or working with perishable products preferred.

· Post secondary training in accounting/bookkeeping preferred.

· Must be fluent in Spanish.

· Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

· Knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically MS Excel at an intermediate level, MS Word and Outlook at a basic level.

· Knowledge and experience with supply chain distribution and inventory systems an asset.

· Knowledge of the standards and practices of inventory control, specifically in the produce industry an asset.

· Ability to exercise initiative and be proactive, action-oriented.

· Works with a high level of accuracy, detail-oriented.

· Ability to complete a high volume of work with a sense of urgency within tight timelines.

· Ability to exercise mature judgement and self-motivation.

· Independent self-starter, not afraid to ask questions. Follows through on work.

· Promotes a customer-focused culture in alignment with the company’s core values, business principles, and climate goals.

· Ability to work flexible hours.*

* Flexible hours: This position will generally have a set schedule during the week, however, this will need to be flexible depending on the season and the volume of product coming in. Working hours could range between 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. The position will also support after hours and weekend operations by phone, averaging about an hour a week depending on the season.
