
Responsibilities/Description: Position Scope: As a member of the leadership team for a US Military defense contractor, the Quality Manager provides leadership in quality management for end-to-end manufacturing and repair processes and operations and defect prevention system establishment and maintenance. This role also contributes experience in establishing, implementing and maintaining quality objectives and goals.
Qualifications: Position Responsibilities: Provide client quality assurance for products and services and assist in assuring the achievement at the optimum quality costs. Provide the development of quality and inspection planning, monitoring of supplier and manufacturing processes and the development of inspection and testing systems for data collection, analysis and reporting. Establish, administer and communicate quality management system programs, procedures and policies for compliance with regulatory and client requirements. Manage, supervise and oversee the training, qualification and workload of Inspection, Metrology and Quality Assurance personnel. Develop and manage departmental budget, resource requirements, and the coordination of capital expenditures. Provide leadership to achieve operational excellence through the processes of inspection planning, in-process and final inspection surveillance, analysis of data, corrective action and continual improvement. Maintain appropriate liaison activities with clients and client representatives to assure compliance and client satisfaction. Ensure environmental, health and safety issues arising from area of responsibility are managed according to legal requirements, company policies and procedures.
Job Specific Responsibilities/Qualifications: Position Qualifications: Mandatory: United States Citizenship. A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in an engineering science, quality or management related field. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Quality Assurance supervisory or managerial role. A minimum of 7 years of experience in metal processing - machining, heat treat, welding and/or fabrication. A minimum of 7 years of experience in the rotating equipment or ship repair industry. The willingness and ability to travel up to 10% of the time in order to fulfill the responsibilities of this position. Experience with ISO Q9001, Mil-I and Mil-Q standards. Knowledge of Lean manufacturing methodologies. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and Project.
Discretionary: Certification in good standing in Quality Manager and Auditor from the American Society for Quality. Experience with Project Planning & Management. Experience with API and/or ASTM standards Current Department of Defense (D.O.D.) security clearance.
