Outcome seeks a Research Associate in Scientific Affairs, to work closely with clients and other functional groups at Outcome to provide strategic input into observational research on the natural history of disease and comparative safety and effectiveness, to propose methodologically sound study design and analysis plans to meet project objectives and regulatory requirements, and to contribute to analyses, evaluation and reporting. This position would be located in Cambridge, MA.

Reports to: Director of Scientific Affairs/Director of Epidemiology

Responsibilities:

  • Organize and help manage research projects, including development of study design and data collection methods, arrangement and attendance of project meetings, and travel to client sites as needed
  • Work closely with senior members of Scientific Affairs in writing research proposals, concepts, protocols and study reports, and in executing, analyzing and interpreting observational data
  • Review data and documents for content and quality
  • Perform and summarize critical literature reviews
  • Prepare abstracts, manuscripts and oral presentations, including development of slides and posters for presentation of project results at regional and national meetings

Requirements:

  • Bachelors in Science or Arts required, Masters Degree in Public Health, Epidemiology or a relevant scientific field desirable
  • 2+ years in healthcare or biopharmaceutical industry with experience coordinating research preferred, equivalent work experience may be considered
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (medical writing experience a plus)
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent technical, analytical, computer, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently, both under supervision and as a contributing team member
  • Microsoft Office including PowerPoint and Excel required; knowledge of SAS and/or STATA a plus.
