-Responsible attitude for personal safety and the safety of co-workers, contractors, and the public. -Self starter and ability to self- direct work. -Knowledge of chemical and mechanical processes. Understanding of temperature, pressure, and flow concepts for liquids and gases. -Knowledge of chemical plant process control, control systems, pumps, and motors. -Good troubleshooting skills for chemical plant processes and equipment. -Basic understanding of lab analysis techniques. -Good communication and interpersonal skills. -Good computer skills. -Team oriented, flexible and able to work with minimal supervision. 5 ) Education and/or Experience:
-High school diploma or equivalent required. -Three years chemical plant operating experience required. Chlor-alkali operating experience a plus. -Process Technician certificate required.
6) Physical Demands:
-Must be able to lift up to and including 50 pounds -Must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment -Must be able to climb stairs, up to 25 steps, multiple and numerous times per shift -Must be able to climb a ladder up to 20 feet as needed -Must be able to turn valves, pushing and pulling them into the open and close position multiple and numerous times per shift -Must be able to work in conditions exceeding the ambient air temperature by approximately 30 degrees F -Must be able to work in an environment with an electromagnetic field
