We currently have an opening for a either a NEW GRAD or Occupational Therapist interested in an OT staff role in one of our Ankeny, Iowa area clinics. This is an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist looking to gain knowledge and master their skills in a well established outpatient orthopedic clinic.

Position Summary:
Responsible for the evaluation, plan of care, treatment, re-evaluation, discharge, and appropriate communications to patients and customers. Develop treatment plans, supervise assistants and aides, contribute to case management, and provide quality patient care. Maintain positive level of interaction with facilities and clients. Enhance and expand client relations with facilities and their staff
Essential Job Functions”
· Evaluate and develop patients’ plans of care in accordance with the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) standards of care.
· Clinicians in the state of California are to function under the rules and regulations of the California State Practice Act, as well as the Board of Occupational Therapy.
· Perform all treatment and re-evaluations in accordance with the AOTA’s standards of care.
· Develop objective patient goals and establish the type, frequency and duration of occupational therapy in collaboration with the referring physician.
· Responsible for the supervision and delegation of the occupational therapy care for each patient within the guideline of state rules and regulations.
· Complete Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training on a yearly basis and adhere to standards set forth in OSHA guidelines and other governmental regulations.
· Expand and enhance clinical techniques through interaction with managers and continuing education functions as approved.
· Responsible for the alteration of each patient’s program as changes in the patient’s status occur.
· Responsible for ensuring the timely dictation of each patient’s evaluation and progress letters to physicians and payer sources, case managers, etc. as indicated.
· Demonstrate completion of patient care responsibilities and documentation requirements in an appropriate and timely manner.
· Participate in aspects of education, including but not limited to, patient home programs, community talks, site inservices.
Participate in student clinical clerkships and affiliation programs in agreement with the AOTA’s clinical education agreements for schools.
