Reporting/Compliance Duties:
1. Ensures that all clinical records reflect compliance with Federal, State and Private guidelines.
2. Manages the processing and maintenance of visit documentation.
3. Maintains all client records in an efficient manner.
4. Ensures the timely and accurate processing of visit and hourly nursing documentation submitted for reimbursement.
5. Records incidents of client complaints and initiates incident reports and/or client complaint forms when necessary.
6. Accepts/processes client referrals and coordinates the transfer of client care.
7. Attends all meetings as necessary for the purpose of ensuring Agency compliance with Federal, State and Private guidelines and to coordinate disciplines involved in client care.
8. Assist accreditation surveyors by coordinating agency staff during annual audits.
Supervisory Duties:
9. Ensures that ethical quality care is provided to the clientele in a timely manner.
10. Monitors case managers to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
11. Interviews and selects home health aides, nursing staff and clerical staff (when appropriate).
12. Monitors visit documentation to ensure that the services reflect the physician's plan of treatment and Agency policies and procedures.
13. Assesses the training/developmental needs and/or requirements of the staff.
14. Provides direct care nursing services to the clientele and serves as the registered nurse on call as necessary
15. Participates in quarterly clinical record reviews and performance improvement activities.
Human Resource Duties:
16. Recruits, hires and provides orientation for all personal care and support service staff, clerical staff, case managers and other professional staff as needed in accordance with Agency policies and procedures.
17. Ensures that the personal care and support services staff meets all in-service requirements.
18. Ensures that case managers and other professional staff meet all competency requirements.
19. Disciplines and counsels the personal care and support service staff as well as professional staff as necessary.
20. Coordinates training sessions, in-service programs and case coordination meetings for personal care and professional staff.
21. Conducts annual performance evaluations on personal care/support service staff, case managers and professional staff.
Other Duties:
22. Serves as back up Facility/Associate Administrator and provides support to case managers as needed.
23. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Job Requirements
1. Knowledge of the home health care techniques, trends, and duties.
2. Ability to manage home health care aides in a manner that insures quality client services for all Auxi Health clientele.
3. General knowledge of the health care profession, and the ability to apply those skills to the home health care profession.
4. Ability to convey Auxi Health's commitment to quality client care to the home health aide staff.
5. Knowledge of and the ability to ensure that all aides receive the appropriate training and meet all in-service requirements.
6. Ability to recruit, select, evaluate, and train home health aide staff.
7. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
8. Ability to manage and maintain confidential information.
9. Ability to maintain all documentation related to the home health care function.
10. Ability to assist the Facility Administrator with forecasting the need for HHA's.
11. Ability to obtain a license maintains automobile insurance, and travel in a variety of inclement
conditions on Auxi Health business.
12. Knowledge of organizational methods and the ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
13. Ability to work daily and extended hours as required.
14. Ability to assist other departments on work related projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: R.N. in the state of Iowa required, B.S.N. preferred.
Experience: A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years nursing
experience and at least one year in home health care,
acute care. supervisory experience preferred.
