Clinical Specialist II- Boston, MA
Description
- Primary Function:
Provide operating room assistance, programming follow ups and data collection during a clinical or research field trial.
- Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance for BSC implanted device programming on patients in physician office or clinic settings
- Provide Operating Room assistance for Boston Scientific products
- Identify and forward all sales and technical issues that could impact future of existing sales to the Territory Manager
- Provide timely and inclusive support along with complete follow-up for all implants during Clinical Trials
- Provide individual and group training for hospital and physician office staff as identified
- Coordinate educational efforts within the territory with the Training and Education Department
- Relay verbal and/or written complaints regarding BSC products to appropriate BSC departments.
h. Supply necessary support with programming all BSC products.
i. Coordinate the inclusion of additional corporate support as needed.
j. This is a field position. While travel will be constrained to a geographic area, it will require episodic travel. Travel outside of their state could occur on a regular basis.
k. “On-call” responsibilities will require use of a pager and it is expected the “On-call” percentage to be 50%+. Vacations would be excluded from this responsibility.
- Specialized Knowledge & Skills
- Clinical Exposure: Operating room conduct and Hospital, physician’s office or Medical Field support knowledge.
- Interpersonal Skills: Good verbal skills are of a primary importance. Daily contact with confused or concerned customers is the norm. Confident demeanor and poise are required.
- FDA regulations for implanted devices: Exposure to FDA regulations while not required is a plus.
- Computer Literacy: General computer skills in Microsoft Office and Internet applications. A working knowledge to utilize these tools to prepare presentation materials and technical memorandums is required.
- Experience :
A minimum of 5 years working in a medical environment is required. If a candidate has training or education that is in a related area, it will be considered as a substitute for experience.
- Education & Training:
A four-year degree in a medical field is desired. However, experience will be considered in-lieu-of a formal degree.
- Physical Environment/Working Conditions –
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 lbs. and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job involve normal vision. . The employee will regularly visit Operating Rooms and Physician offices
