Plant Engineer/Maintenance Manager

Aluminium Can Manufacturer in Chicago

· Lead two maintenance supervisors and 90+ unionized hourly employees in all maintenance duties of a 24/7 high-speed aluminium can-manufacturing plant.

· Develop maintenance plans and activities to ensure meeting production requirements throughout the facility.

· Direct, review, and approve design, and changes to the equipment or the facility.

· Complete budgets and requests for funding to upgrade equipment, and the surrounding facility area.

· Supervise and coordinate the activities of hourly associates engaged in the maintenance, production, and project work in can/end production.

· Read and analyze charts, work orders, maintenance, and production schedules in order to meet customer requirements. Set all daily, monthly, preventative maintenance checks.

· Analyze statistical information to make data-driven decisions.

· Plan and establish maintenance schedules, assignments, to meet production sequences to meet daily goals. Create and follow up on the maintenance day schedule.

· Monitor work order system, parts inventory, using SAP, and other systems.

· Mechanical: Knowledge of machines, tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

· Prior union management experience required.
