Work with Vice President of Product Marketing to set priorities for the Individual/Retail Product Marketing team
Work with Senior Management and direct reports of Product Management team to understand business goals, needs and objectives, and act as consultant to develop integrated strategic marketing plans, including metrics and implementation plan to retain and grow market share and report on results.
Work with the Market and Business Development team to understand and leverage competitive and customer data.
Work with the Institutional and Asset Management Product Marketing teams, as well as Segments and Corporate Marketing to ensure integration of Institutional Product Marketing in all relevant activities.
Drive Marketing's product/service development efforts; including the development of positioning, marketing, communications and sales support strategies. Identify and launch new products/services to help meet the needs of specific customers and prospect segments
Primary Responsibilities
· Set strategic marketing direction to help lead the initiation, development and distribution, e.g., positioning of new retail products/services and enhance and improve existing products/services to achieve stated business goals, objectives and customer needs
· Develop the Strategic Marketing Plan including metrics and oversee the Plan execution to deliver the expected results
· Drive Marketing's product/service development efforts; including the development of positioning, marketing, communications and sales support strategies. Identify and launch new products/services to help meet the needs of specific customers and prospect segments
· Collaborate with key decision-makers and influencers to build relationship, provide marketing expertise, and uncover new business opportunities, risks, and develop short and long term solutions. Act as a member of the business lines' leadership teams, contributing marketing perspective and marketing and communications strategies that support business goals and objectives
· Collaborate with Marketing business partners (both investment and institutional) and Public Affairs (Advertising, Media Relations, Web Strategies, Corporate and Government Relations) to develop the most effective integrated strategies for our customers.
· Manage product marketing budget to support segment goals. Analyze and report on effectiveness of marketing initiatives to business partners and propose recommendations on future strategies. Monitor market trends and competitors to develop effective marketing strategies.
· Represent Public Affairs, the parent organization of Marketing, and function as the area's point person on all matters related to the respective product/service lines. Work with Senior Management to establish policies and processes that maximize organizational cost effectiveness
Qualifications
• Excellent project management discipline, relationship management, team building, presentation and communications skills that establish trust, credibility and respect. Works well with multi-team projects to deliver large-scale initiatives
• Five to seven years related financial marketing and business experience. Knowledge of retirement business and other financial and protection products.
• Proven new product/service development history in financial services
• Strong history of and comfort with working in highly complex product development processes that require understanding of legacy infrastructures, new systems, and outside vendor software in order to translate to client-facing product/service. Must be able to take this sometimes highly technical process and present the solution to clients in a way that is compelling and causes them to take action.
• Flexibility in a dynamic organization.
• Proven ability to influence key decision-makers and others where no direct reporting relationship exists.
• Successful experience in developing and implementing strategic plans, forecasting and attaining objectives in a metrics driven environment.
• Strategic thinker, planning and execution abilities. Environment is highly fluid, moving from strategy to execution in the same breath.
• Experience with product sets ideal: IRA, Brokerage.
• 8+ years financial services experience
• BBA, MBA or MA preferred
• NASD Registered Representative Series 7, 63 and 24 upon hire or within the first six months.
• Location: New York City preferred but not required
• Travel approximately 15 %,
